Paoma Historic Trail

This heaven on Earth along the skirts of the city was once a part of the old roads of northern Yilan, which were used by early settlers to transport lumber on horseback. It has since been reconstructed to highlight its refreshing natural environment, stretching out over a total of five kilometers. Along its path, you will find small mountain temples, orchards, mining areas, the upstream waters of Houdongkeng River, the cliff inscriptions of Paoma Trail, and other unique views woven into the bamboo foliage. Weaving through these roads, you can admire the beauty of Lanyang Plain and Guishan Island from above, taking in all the scenery that Yilan has to offer all at once.
