Luodong Cultural Working House羅東文化工場

Luodong Cultural Working House is located in downtown Luodong; its functions include cultural performance, sports and leisure, and development of the cultural and creative industries. Not only does the Cultural Working House provide quality arts and literature services, but it also introduces plural and diversified elements to Luodong. The special architectural design attracts a lot of people to visit this place by its reputation, and it has become one of the landmarks of Luodong.

In order not to block the view around it, under the big shed at a clear height of 18 meters, there is the Sky Gallery hanging, and the culture market on the ground, leaving the space in the middle section empty. As Luodong had a prosperous history of forestry in the past, the space arrangement, material texture and the main body of the building of the Luodong Cultural Working House all indistinctly echo the forest industry culture at that time.

When walking up the stairs, the tourists can appreciate the Sky Gallery and the middle corridor beneath. Standing on the floating platform, they can take in all the surrounding scenes at a glance, with a wide open horizon offering an exceptionally relaxed and romantic ambience.

The Luodong Cultural Working House arranges themed exhibitions and performances from time to time, as well as various DIY activities and a cultural and creative market to give the visitors memorable experiences.

Not a lot to see, but enjoyed the view and watching people do a variety of activities. Enjoyed our chats with the people minding various exhibitions.

    MUST-VISIT: Different Feels/Vibes of Luodong

    5 2016-12

Luodong Cultural Factory in my opinion, gives a different vibes from other places in Luodong. From the top floor you can see the panoramic view of Yilan and it is beautiful! There is currently an art gallery going on now so you wouldn't want to miss it. This place is also very accessible via the free Luodong Shuttle Bus (alight at Cultural Factory directly)

    a very different art gallery

    5 2016-12

Luodong Cultural Working House was established purposefully for art craft and handcraft. There are seasonal DIY sessions open to the public; it's better to know what they are offering before the visit. Sometimes there are exhibitions and it's entry free. What I like most is its installation art - lau dung shiuan - it is a giant tea pot made of cypress pieces, copper and mud hung up in the air. It is an art work and it is also a tea pavilion. Lau Dung Shiuan is only open to the public twice a year, during Spring and Autumn. When it is open, tea ceremonies will be hosted. Visitors must register in advance in order to get up inside Lau Dung Shiuan and in order to enjoy tea brewed by tea artists. I forgot to mention that this art gallery was designed by Mr. Huang, Sheng-Yuan, a very famous and outstanding architect in Taiwan. His designs got many awards in the world, too. If you are a fan of architecture, it is highly recommended to design a themed tour visiting all his masterpieces around Yilan; you will be amazed.

    The view of Luodong!

The feeling is amazing when you climb about 100 stairs to reach the rooftop to see the Luodong's skyline, I just feel so right!
